Forthcoming Events:
Christmas Craft Fair at Doncaster Deaf School
Saturday 3rd November 2012

My first passion has always been Art. I worked as a sewing machinist for 20 years in the textile industry and always wanted to be an Artist.
I did many portraits for work colleagues of their children, cats, dogs, horses, homes and landscapes etc.
I then left the textile industry to start a family, this kept me busy bringing up my children for a while then my creative urge got the better of me and I decided to try Rag Rug making this was something I'd always wanted to try since seeing my grandads Rag Rugs as a child, the idea of creating something from nothing and recycling old rags really appealed to me.
It is an environmentally friendly craft and very cheap to get started, although cutting up the rags is the hardest part of making rugs it is always worth it when you see the end result.
There are many ways of making the rugs and I like to experiment with all the old tools that I find on my travels
.I work from home athough there isn't enough hours in a day for all the things I would like to make, as well as making rugs I also make my own;
Peg weaving looms
Knitting Bobbins
Weaving Lucets
Rag Rug Kits
& Rug Frames
I hope my rugs and kits will bring this traditional old craft to a younger generation and help to look after our planet by recycling your old clothes and making something both beutiful and practical out of nothing.
If you need any special requirements plese contact me.
